Bonner: $500,000 Awarded to Stoneboro for Water System Improvements
July 16, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) announced the borough of Stoneboro will receive $500,000 in the form of a low-interest loan through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for a water system upgrade.
The project includes design and engineering work for at least two new groundwater wells, construction of a new water transmission line of about 11,000 feet from the water sources to the distribution system, and installation of new or replacement water distribution lines with valves and other necessary components throughout Stoneboro.
“Water infrastructure is an important part of any community,” Bonner said. “I am pleased to see this funding awarded to Stoneboro for important improvements.”
PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
