Bonner Announces Safety Grants for Two Mercer County Schools

June 16, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) today announced that two nonpublic schools in the 17th Legislative District will receive state grants to enhance school safety, security and student well-being.

The schools receiving funding are:
• Grove City Christian Academy – $21,000.
• Stoneboro Wesleyan Methodist School – $75,000.

“Our students deserve safety and security when they walk into school,” Bonner said. “These grants will help them learn in an environment where they feel protected and supported. I am glad to see this funding go toward strengthening security measures and expanding resources that promote student well-being and peace of mind for families.”

The awards were approved by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee as part of a statewide distribution of 353 grants totaling nearly $20 million.

Funding may be used for a range of school safety improvements, including security enhancements, emergency preparedness planning, training and personnel support, and programs that address student mental and behavioral health needs.

The School Safety and Security Grant Program is administered by PCCD and supports schools and other eligible entities across Pennsylvania in strengthening security infrastructure and expanding access to resources that promote safe learning environments.
