Bonner: Nearly $215,000 Awarded to Fire, EMS Services in Mercer and Butler Counties
February 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) announced grant funding was awarded to multiple essential first responder companies in the 17th District.
Seventeen fire companies and ambulance squads in the 17th District, covering parts of Mercer and Butler counties, are recipients of grants administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. The money can be used for construction, renovation, equipment purchases or repairs, recruitment and retention, public education about fire safety, and existing debt reduction.
“I am glad to see this funding support our fire and EMS heroes,” Bonner said. “I understand most of these companies are volunteer run, which makes money for equipment, training and facility upgrades hard to come by. These grants help ensure they have the tools and resources needed to protect lives and property across Mercer and Butler counties.”
