Bonner: State Funding Awarded to Support Safety, Accessibility and Public Works Upgrades in Butler County
December 18, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Butler/Mercer) announced nearly $430,000 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants have been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for two Butler County communities. The grants will support infrastructure upgrades and public works improvements.
“The money awarded in these grants will support Butler County by improving safety, accessibility and essential municipal services,” Bonner said. “These are necessary upgrades that will help local governments better serve their residents.”
The following LSA grants, funded through gaming revenues, were awarded:
• Fairview Borough – $249,752 for sidewalk replacements on Main Street. The project will upgrade deteriorated sidewalks and add ADA-compliant ramps to improve safety and accessibility.
• Slippery Rock Borough - $180,000 for public works equipment, which includes the purchase of a new street sweeper and a new truck. The project aims to reduce budget costs and support equipment-sharing with neighboring communities.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency responsible for administering state investments that support Pennsylvania’s economic growth and community development.
