Bonner Condemns Murder of Charlie Kirk

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) issued the following statement regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Charlie Kirk.

Charlie was killed while sharing his thoughts and beliefs with others. A strong advocate for open debate and the free exchange of ideas, he believed civil conversation was the foundation of a healthy democracy.

This heinous act is an attack on free speech and the right of assembly, principles in which our Commonwealth was founded, and which remains essential to our identity as Americans.

Violence of any kind has no place in our society. As someone who believes firmly in the rule of law, I know we must address violence not by silencing voices, but by upholding our Constitution and protecting our freedoms and our citizens.

Hopefully, the person(s) responsible for this senseless act will be quickly apprehended and held fully accountable for their actions.
