Bonner Announces Over $160,000 in CTC Grants for Mercer and Butler Counties

February 9, 2024

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer, Butler) today announced local funding through this year’s Career and Technical Education Equipment Grants Program. Two Career and Technical (CTCs) schools in the 17th House District will receive funding through the program.

Mercer County Career Center and Butler County Area Vocational Technical School will receive funding to expand and improve access to first-class equipment and educational advantages for their students. Mercer County Career Center will receive $79,546, while Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School will receive $85,000.

“Our children are unique and have different skills, so it is critical for all learners to be prepared for success once they graduate” Bonner said. “I am pleased to have advocated for this funding of our local schools. This funding allows for these programs to enhance the education of these students, as well as expand their programs. Investment into our children is essential for the future of the Commonwealth as our young people prepare to enter the work force.”

Across Pennsylvania, there are more than 80 CTCs which offer a combination of classes and hands-on learning programs approved by the Department of Education.
