MARION TOWNSHIP – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) is pleased to announce Marion Township has received $3.75 million in grant money from the Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus Funds (CDBG-CV) for its Sewage System Infrastructure Improvement Project.

“The proposed project will include the construction of a new sewage system for the village of Boyers, serving approximately 110 households. The project includes the construction of a sewer plant and infrastructure necessary for the sewer system. This project is vital to the health and safety of the community,” Bonner said. “The village of Boyers operated a sewage treatment system for decades but was unable to meet the Department of Environmental Protection regulations.”

Ultimately, Butler County Court of Common Pleas directed Marion Township to assume operations of the sewage facility. Bonner also stated, “This grant will not only improve the health crisis, but financially enable Marion Township to move forward with this much-needed project.”
