Mercer County Project Awarded Multi- Million Dollar Loan, Bonner announced
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) today announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) approved nearly $8.3 million in a grant and low-interest loan funding for a water service project in Sandy Lake Borough.
Funding for this project consists of a grant of $4,245,927 and a loan of $4,144,073 from PENNVEST.
The funding will be used to install approximately 22,000 feet of new polyvinyl chloride C-900 waterline, 30 new fire hydrants and related appurtenances. Additionally, the borough will replace approximately 300 existing service lines with C-900 waterline, totaling 19,000 feet, as well as new meters installation for residential customers.
“I am pleased to see these essential community projects receiving funding assistance through PENNVEST that we have long advocated for,” said Bonner. “Completing these projects goes a long way towards making our area a safer, cleaner place to live, and doing so while reducing the costs for our local residents.”
PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of public and privately owned drinking water treatment and distribution facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
