HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) today announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) approved nearly $7 million through a grant and low-interest loan for a wastewater treatment plant in Jackson Township. The grant totals more than $4.8 million while the loan is for more than $2 million.
The funding will be used to construct a new 98,000 gallons-per-day wastewater treatment plant along Bradley Road, State Route 2018, in Jackson Township. Construction will include a new concrete headworks wet well with a comminutor and perforated screen, new concrete influent pumping wet well with two submersible pumps, influent valves, a metering vault, and two sequencing batch reactor treatment tanks.
“These community projects are an essential part of keeping our area clean and safe for residents,” Bonner said. “I am proud to have long advocated for funding for this project and I am grateful to see Jackson Township receive the necessary funding assistance through PENNVEST.”
PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of public and privately owned drinking water treatment and distribution facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
