HARRISBURG — Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Butler/Mercer) has been named a Charlie Gerow Award winner for his voting record on defending limited government. That’s according to a scorecard by the Institute for Legislative Analysis (ILA).

Bonner said, “I subscribe to the same theory Thomas Jefferson talked about during the founding of our great nation. ‘The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases.’ I will continue to work to limit our government’s intrusion into our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.”

The ILA presented 73 Pennsylvania state lawmakers with its Charlie Gerow Award, which is based on its Limited Government ratings for 50 votes cast in 2022.

The Washington, D.C.-based ILA serves as the data and policy hub for multiple national conservative and liberty-minded organizations. Prior to the launch of the ILA, the team previously served together for nearly a decade at the Conservative Political Action Conference and the American Conservative Union, where it constructed the nation’s first 50 state legislative scorecard.
